Legacy Verbal Brand Identity

Following the success of its Exchange Brand for large enterprise clients, Microsoft adopted a new strategic direction for its personal information management software. This innovative software merged the benefits of both Exchange and Schedule+, combining email, contacts, calendars, and tasks into one platform.

The result was the verbal identity Microsoft Outlook, a Brand targeting both professional and consumer users. The name Outlook – defined as “a view or perspective from the place from which an observer looks” – clearly communicates that all Outlook tasks are managed from a single window and reinforces users’ positive outlook by simplifying simultaneous, information-intensive tasks.

Currently, brandsymbol principals leverage past technology branding experience, such as Outlook, to successfully impact a diverse array of technology clients.

NOTE: Legacy case studies have been completed by brandsymbol principals prior to brandsymbol’s inception.
